Dec. 30 - Jan. 5 - Happy New Year! Fresh flakes are flying at the Resort today and there's more on the way in the next 10 days. Read on for Dr. Huckinstuff's weekly recap:

The week started with nostalgic reflections on the crazy year of 2023. From vapor-washed memories of the banner pow days at closing last season, to the near historic low tide scenario starting this one, the past twelve months had certainly kept us on our tapping toes. Fireworks and torchlights teleported us into 2024 under continued high and dry conditions, but a change was brewing. Weeks of temperature inverted mornings began to break down and clouds started to spill into the valley. Grumblings of snowfall on the horizon could be heard in hushed corners of the tram dock, spurring dreams of fresh powder slopes devoid of rock. While the waiting game pressed on the snowmaking crew emerged as the holiday seasons MVP's, dropping flakes night and day so one and all could play. Combined with the grooming team they've been working serious miracles on the mountain, so throw them a massive high five for keeping this early season alive. Finally, as Friday hit, we found that our start of the week fantasies my actually be coming to fruition. A welcome one-inch touch-up gave the powder parched valley residents an excuse to start the weekend early. And they did! Driven by hypnotic visions of flying flakes they fell into a trance, as they ritualistically performed 2024's first snow dance. -Lege

T'was the week of Christmas 2023, and despite the low snow totals we were still stoked to ski. We just clicked in at the top and let out a cheer with hopes that deep powder soon would be here. Day after day we jumped from our beds while visions of stellar crystals danced through our heads. The snow depths were maintained by an inverted cold snap, and attitudes improved with every Tram lap (cont'd)
