With one of the deepest snowpacks in Jackson Hole history, snow currently falling and 3 nights of free live music, the first annual Jackson Hole Rendezvous is sure to be one for the books. Thursday through Saturday night is loaded with incredible live music: Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe on Thursday, Blues Traveler on Friday and Michael Franti & Spearhead on Saturday.
FULL EVENT SCHEDULE.
The Jackson Hole Rendezvous fun isn’t limited to just live music at night. Music Under the Tram will be rocking from 3-5 PM on Friday/Saturday/Sunday afternoons, ramping up the hype for the main stage concerts and following great days of skiing/riding on a snowpack that is over 120″ deep.
The first annual Jackson Hole Rendezvous kicks off tonight in the town of Jackson, with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe playing at the Snow King Center. Doors open at 6:30 PM with music starting at 7:30 PM. Legendary local rock & roll party band Mandatory Air will be getting things started in a big way. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe is the main act and will hit the stage following the Mandatory Air set.
On Friday, skiing/riding fresh snow will be on the agenda (RPK2 is the forecast tonight!). The apres fun and music starts at 3 PM with high-energy 80’s cover band 86 playing Music Under the Tram. 86 will rock Music Under the Tram until 5 PM, when things start to move over to the main stage. DJ Logic will be warming up the main stage from 5:30-6:30, to be followed up by Blues Traveler. If complimentary food/drinks with special access sound like your kind of thing, you can purchase Private Reserve access for Blues Traveler, Michael Franti & Spearhead, or both. There will be fireworks after the Blues Traveler set.
The fun on Saturday starts bright and early with the Pole, Pedal, Paddle race- a multi-sport race that starts at JHMR with Downhill skiing transitioning to road biking. After the participants have left the resort there is also a transition to nordic skiing, back to road biking and then finishing with boating on the Snake River. This is a spirited competition, with the emphasis on the spirit. Costumes are a highlight of this annual event.
With continued snow in the forecast, Saturday should be another great day on the mountain. Music Under the Tram will start the fun for the evening at 3PM, with 5-piece country/folk/party band Bootleg Flyer playing until 5PM. Once Bootleg Flyer finishes their set, head over to the main stage where doors open at 5PM. Groovetrotters get the tunes rolling on the main stage from 5:30-6:30, and then Michael Franti & Spearhead steal the stage. Make sure to stick around for the fireworks that follow the Franti show.
The Rendezvous fun continues on Sunday with the Marmot Coombs Classic starting first thing. Headwall hiking and skiing are combined in this fun event and the awards/raffle prizes are announced preceding Music Under the Tram. The music starts at 3PM for Music Under the Tram, with perennial local favorite Chan Man Roots Band rocking the stage until 5PM.
Make sure not to miss sponsor expos each day from GoPro, Jeep, Gore-Tex and Marmot!
