Dec. 16 - Dec. 22 - Happy holidays! All lifts are open for the season. Read on for Dr. Huckinstuff's weekly recap:

New sensations continued to present themselves this week despite a lack of fresh fallen snow. In a prelude to holiday festivities, we fired up the Aerial tram, giving us a full arsenal of lifts and allowing for further exploration of Rendezvous Mountain's 4,000+ vertical feet. With the minimal pre-holiday crowds spread mountain wide, alpine aficionados were able to slow down and soak in the solitude of the expansive Teton landscape. Morning temperature inversions provided magical visions of cotton-candy cloud layers to those who ignored the powder naysayers and headed for the summit. The mountains are known to be the home of spirits both benevolent and mischievous, and as we approached the winter solstice in solitude, their powerful presence seemed to ride along with us. Contrasting moments of blazing summit sunshine and eerie cloud covered forest silence kept us coming back for more, as we never knew which type of deity the next tram ride had in store. With winter officially in effect, the excited anticipation of an incoming storm and Winterfest events ramping up in the Village, the relative calm is coming to an end. Replaced by visions of faceshots dancing in the heads of good little boys and girls valley wide, as Santa prepares surprises for his annual sleigh ride. -Lege
