(11/28/16 @9:30am) After receiving 18 inches of snow overnight, JHMR is pleased to kick off the winter season this Thursday, December 1st. JHMR will open Teewinot and Après Vous lifts at 9 am on Thursday with additional lifts and terrain scheduled to open over the weekend as snow conditions allow.
(11/26/16 @1pm) It’s Saturday in Jackson Hole and overnight temperatures have been cold, allowing for optimal snowmaking. The weekend forecast shows continued cold temperatures at night, with natural snow predicted for Sunday and Monday. If this forecast holds, by early Monday 11/28 we will be in a position to announce a firm opening day. The Ticket Office, General Store, JH Sports and TVS will also be open daily. Daily updates will continue to be posted here, as well as on the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Facebook page.
We will be monitoring snow conditions daily, and it is our intent to open as soon as conditions allow. Daily updates will be posted here:
Winter has had a bit of slow start in the west, but it’s finally here. Following our best October snow-wise in 16 years, we entered into warmer weather like much of the west. But Jackson Hole is back in the flow and we’ve received six inches of new snow in the past 48 hours with, more importantly, colder temperatures. Lows in the single digits have created optimal conditions for snowmaking. Our crews will continue to make snow in anticipation of a Thanksgiving opening day. It will be limited terrain on opening day, with more terrain opening in the near future.
In addition to the snowmaking going on here in Teton Village, it looks like we’re set to receive more snow starting Sunday night. Predictions for the next storm show somewhere between 6-10 inches, from Sunday to Tuesday afternoon with most of the snow falling on Monday.
Everyone do their snow dance or whatever your ritual may be for the next big storm. Here’s to the 2016-17 winter season!
