Attention all hikers, runners, outdoor enthusiasts! Recreating in Teton Village just got a little bit sweeter. Our ever-growing trail system in conjunction with Teton Village Sports is inviting you out to enjoy some time in Mother Nature. That’s right, the Trail Starts Here Challenge has returned. Hike or run in Teton Village this summer from June 15th – September 1st, log your miles via Strava and get entered to win raffle prizes or even a Grand Pass for Winter 19/20 at JHMR. There are a few small rules or general guidelines to participate in the challenge, but the main goal is to bring our trails to life here at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

The Casper Ridge Loop is our newest trail off the Bridger Gondola.

The Trail Starts Here Challenge rewards participants for simply enjoying time on the trail system in Teton Village. Here are the steps to taking advantage of this opportunity:

  1. Download the Strava App and join the JHMR Trail Starts Here Challenge 2019 Group.
  2. Make sure your Strava account is public. We are unable to track runs/hikes that are private.
  3. Run/hike must either start or end in Teton Village and be tracked with @JHMR in activity name. TRACK ALL RUNS/HIKES AS RUNS IN APP.
  4. Each time you track an activity, you will be entered into the raffle.

The Wildflower Trail is the perfect mix of elevation, flow, and distance.

We’ll spare you the fine print, let us issue a challenge to all trail enthusiasts:

  • The participant with the most miles run/hiked in Teton Village will be awarded a Winter 19/20 Grand Pass.
  • Prizes for most vertical feet, most total runs and most top to bottom runs will all be awarded.
  • Raffle entries will be eligible to win $5,000 in additional prizes

Mother Nature rewards the ‘evening commuters’ on a regular basis.

Got a favorite ski run? I bet it could be your favorite running or hiking trail too! Perhaps you’re looking to get more information about trail conditions or need a pair of trail shoes? Two birds, one stone at Teton Village Sports. Looking for a running group or partner? We’ve got those too, as this summer we’ll offer our first group trail runs on Saturday mornings at 9 am. Need something to train for or trying to climb the big one? Check out the Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb in August.

Perhaps the best part about running or hiking in Teton Village is that one can enjoy so many different variations of the trail system. Ride the Aerial Tram and enjoy an entirely different system of trails in the Alpine running all the way to Marion Lake or to Granite Canyon in Grand Teton National Park. Take the Bridger Gondola and run the new Casper Ridge Loop overlooking GTNP, or link up the upper mountain trail system via the beautiful Cirque Trail. Ride Teewinot as a foot passenger and the list of opportunities is endless! The trails are at your disposal and they are anxiously awaiting your arrival. Remember to always be prepared. Water, proper footwear and clothing, maps, and bear spray are recommended. Curious about trail offerings in Teton Village, click here.

We’ll see you on the trails! Feel free to reach out to Teton Village Sports with questions regarding the promotion.
