We will fully open for summer beginning Saturday, June 15 despite the recent closure of Highway 22 on Teton Pass.

While the landslide on June 8 on Highway 22 closed Teton Pass between Jackson and Victor, Idaho, Jackson Hole is still accessible via the Jackson Hole Airport as well as Highway 191 for visitors traveling from the North, South and East, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. We have spent the past three days assessing how the road closure will impact employees, their families, and guests, and determined that the incident will not delay our summer opening day.

“We are grateful to the representatives from WYDOT, Teton County, and the Town of Jackson for their swift response to the incident on Saturday, and we have been in constant communication with local and state officials as we gather more information about the road closure on Teton Pass,” said JHMR President Mary Kate Buckley. “Our Jackson Hole community is incredibly resilient, and it’s times like these that we know our community will come together and support one another and visiting guests. Three of the four roads into Jackson, Grand Teton National Park, the Town of Jackson and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort are open, and our local businesses are ready for the season to begin. We would love to see you this summer.”

Activities opening on Saturday include the acclaimed Jackson Hole Bike Park, world-class adventuring on the Via Ferrata, and stunning views atop the Bridger Gondola. The aerial ropes course, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, and brand new Wild Woods playground will also open on June 15. The iconic Aerial Tram has been open since May 18, offering our visitors incredible vistas at the summit (10,450') of Rendezvous Mountain and access to Corbet’s Cabin for “Top of the World” waffles daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 6.

The Grand Teton Skywalk is open this year for its first full summer after making its debut last fall and is accessible via a short walk from the top of the Aerial Tram. The Skywalk offers breathtaking views of the Tetons, Jackson Hole valley and surrounding mountain ranges, and is included in visitors’ sightseeing tickets. Also new this summer is our interpretive experience, which offers a variety of signage located a short walk off the Aerial Tram where guests can learn about the ecosystem in Jackson Hole, including the local history, geology, flora and fauna.

New this summer is the Wild Woods playground, which features eight play features where young adventurers can climb, slide, swing, and learn. Just a short walk from Solitude Station, the Wild Woods can be accessed from the Sweetwater Gondola mid-station, or by taking a quick hike from the base of the Resort.

We're also excited to debut a thrilling new section of the Deer Jump trail at the Jackson Hole Bike Park, which offers big jumps, berms, and creative features that cement the park as one of the premier bike destinations in the region. Novice trails, advanced trails, adaptive trails, pump tracks and jump lines can all be accessed by the Sweetwater or Teewinot lifts. We have mountain biking guides available to show first-time guests the trails.

“Be it once-in-a-lifetime climbing on our famous Via Ferrata, riding at the best bike park in the Tetons, or exploring Rendezvous Mountain via the Aerial Tram and the Grand Teton Skywalk, summer at the Resort never disappoints,” Buckley said. "There is something for every guest to experience and enjoy.”
