If a picture is worth a thousand words, Wade McKoy has chronicled volumes of Jackson Hole’s history. He’s been here for nearly every chapter—new terrain, legendary progression, snowboarding’s arrival, and the dawn of our open-gate policy—always with a camera in hand. As we celebrate our 60th anniversary, Wade's collection is largely what we look back on to reflect on the growth & history of our resort. Wade's coffee table book, The Arc of Skiing Jackson Hole: 45 Years Behind the Lens, is our touchstone, and now you can take our history home with you.

About

A Jackson, Mississippi native, Wade McKoy made a loose promise to a college roommate that he would move to Jackson Hole after graduating. On a fall morning in 1974, a Ford Econoline pulled up in front of Wade's house—and he jumped in to fulfill that promise. Having only skied once before, Wade cut his teeth as a lifty upon arrival. In just a few short years, he would evolve into an extremely proficient skier and one of the most prolific photographers in ski history.

Photography was in Wade’s blood from an early age—he received his first camera in third grade. His passion for storytelling led him to launch several publications, including Village Focus, Jackson Hole Skier, and the Teton & Yellowstone Adventure Guide.

As we look back in our history to celebrate our 60th anniversary, much of what we cherish is the product of Wade McKoy. His book, Through the Lens of Wade McKoy, is a must-have for anyone who wants to experience Jackson Hole, it's people, and it's story.
