Teton Village’s Best Hiking Trails Come With a View

Excited footsteps crunch along the arid trail, winding through woods overtaken with shimmering emerald leaves. Honeybees and butterflies explore newly-sprouted flowers of all varieties, while insects everywhere emit a harmonious hum. The scent of blooming sage mixes with the morning’s lingering coolness. The long winter is over; spring is nearly finished, and we’re on the cusp of summer and it’s rejuvenating warmth. The optimal way to feel this exuberance of burgeoning life is to go hiking!

Ascend from the base of our beloved Resort, and allow the sun’s rays to warm your skin. Striding at a comfortable pace, each switchback provides new perspective of the ever-expanding valley floor filled with lush vegetation and shining golden flowers. The same valley that not too long ago remained dormant under frozen ice and snow.

Climbing higher, the Bridger Gondola glides silently overhead. Any sounds it would emit are drowned out by the distant cascading of newly-formed meltwater torrents. Soon enough, you pass by shrinking snow patches succumbing to the sun’s thermal force.

The higher you hike, the more apparent winter’s fading grasp becomes. Thoughts easily drift to sliding on snow; elation in its purest form. Recently hidden terrain features reveal their true scale, amplifying the interconnectivity between changing seasons and perspective.

Reaching the Deck of Rendezvous Lodge atop the Bridger Gondola, you’re rewarded with expansive views of the valley below. The sun reflects off of a distant paraglider’s wing. Corbet’s Couloir, still entrenched with snow, looms stoically from afar. Hiking here was no small task, one that should be rewarded with sustenance…or a Top of the World Waffle at Off-Piste. C’mon, you’ve earned it!
