Imagine this: You wake up on a crisp sunny morning in late August with all day ahead of you and only one destination on the agenda. That destination will provide days worth of competition, gravity-fed thrills, the tastiest buzz in the valley, and tunes that have transcended generations. All in one setting. All in one day. Now imagine that backdrop is everyone’s favorite stop for winter and summer recreation and lies at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. You can wake up now. The last 30 seconds you spent dreaming of this day, a day that would rival all days, is on the horizon.

Let me introduce you to our inaugural ‘Bikes, Brews & Baskets‘ event here in Teton Village, coming in hot this Saturday, August 24th. This quick guide to the event will let you know what to expect and more importantly what to get excited for next weekend.

BIKES

For those adrenaline-fueled junkies or lovers of the downhill, we’ll have our bike park fired up with Teewinot spinning – fueling the fire. Rumor has it a few more trails are starting to sprout around the resort and the cross country trails are definitely a great option if you’d like to earn those beers. The Hoback Trail is a fan favorite, although it is an out and back trail due to construction right now, and the newly minted Solitoga is quietly becoming a popular trail from the top of the Sweetwater Gondola down.

Interested in learning more about downhill or renting a bike from us? We’ve got Brewfest tickets packaged with lift access and MTB guides available at JH Sports as well. This is a great chance to dip your feet in the water and revel in a new experience. Fancy yourself a biker but don’t have a pass to the bike park? We’ve got those packaged as well with Brewfest tickets for your enjoyment.

BREWs & MUSIC

Not sure what needs to be said about this other than this is the 1st Brewfest in Teton Village… ever. With 13 breweries pouring beer on Saturday, this is sure to be a hell of a time. Brewfest tickets start at $25 and include a YETI Lowball Rambler engraved with your favorite Jackson Hole logo, a perfect tasting vessel, and an even better souvenir. Each ticket includes 3 tasting pours and if you are still thirsty, more beer tokens are available for purchase.

Don’t miss out on beers from the following breweries:

  • Grand Teton Brewing, Lander Brewing, Roadhouse Brewing, Odell Brewing, Epic Brewing, Lagunitas, Big Sky Brewing, Upslope Brewing, Snake River Brewery, Melvin Brewing, New Belgium Brewing, Wildlife Brewing

Perhaps the most exciting part of the afternoon coincides with the Brewfest portion of the event as a performance from the Deadlocks will be the icing on the cake. Tunes and brews make for a wonderful afternoon, no doubt, but add in the sounds of the Grateful Dead and now we’re talking. Jackson Hole’s favorite cover band highlights the years of work from the Grateful Dead. From the classics to the songs revered by only the biggest of fans, the Deadlocks will keep you truckin’ through the afternoon and into the evening. Don’t miss a great show from a band that has transcended generations and translates well to the enjoyment of a Brewfest.

BASKETS

Perhaps mountain biking isn’t your thing, but you are more fond of hiking. We’ve got the activity for you. Take your hiking in stride with competition at this years JHMR Disc Golf Tournament. The crisp morning air will welcome disc golfers of all skill levels as they vie to become this year’s king and queen of our 18 hole disc golf course. Perhaps the best part about the event is the inclusivity of the event and definitely the giveaways at the end of the round. Those that are serious ‘frolfers’ will have the chance to take home big money, while those who are new to the sport can compete and enjoy themselves throughout the morning. The end of the event will offer a raffle, giveaways, and small competitions such as the “Ring of Fire” as a chance to take great prizes and every participant will receive this year’s custom disc as a parting gift. Disc Golfers should plan to meet at JH Sports between 9-10 am for registration and there will be a shotgun start after that. See you on the course!
