After a brief 40 day hiatus of resting and thawing from another incredible winter here in the Tetons, our beloved Aerial Tram is ready to fly again. The moment all anxious ‘corn farmers’ (skiers), hiking enthusiasts, wildlife stalkers, and waffle eaters have been waiting for arrives this Saturday morning at ‘0900’. So whether you are waxing your skis, dialing in your camera, or preparing to take down a mountain of waffles (perhaps just me), your chance to reign supreme atop Rendezvous Mountain returns this weekend. Take a look into the conditions at ‘the top of the world.

Corbet’s Cabin will reopen and purvey the aforementioned waffles, but also delicious beverages and other small snacks, as well as JHMR take homes for friends and families. The JHMR operations staff has done a great job preparing the cabin and surrounding areas to allow riders to walk around and enjoy 360-degree panoramic views of Grand Teton National Park, the Snake River, and Bridger Teton National Forest. This isn’t the Four Corners by any means, but one will find themselves peering from Wyoming to Idaho, from the Gros Ventre Range to the Snake River Range and beyond.

Grand views are the norm at 10,450′.

The melt begins, but there is still some snow to enjoy for those interested!

For those not privy to snow for nearly half of the calendar year, this will bring opportunities that children and parents alike can only dream of. Ride the Tram and relive a childhood dream of building snowmen or having a snowball fight (it wasn’t my idea). Perhaps the best part is being whisked away by machinery that most only dream of, our cherished ‘Big Red’ will inspire dreams of powder days and backpacking trips galore. For some, the experience of flying high for 12 minutes while learning about what nature has to offer on our mountain will resonate for years to come, and who knows, perhaps one may find themselves on the typing end of a blog like this one. Just sayin’.

Waffles anyone? Might we recommend the Trad with bacon.

For the most part, our challenge to you is simple, just #ridethetram. Take a moment to appreciate what we’ve got here in our small corner of Northwest Wyoming and anticipate the arrival of all other summer activities in Teton Village starting June 8th, from flying high on the bungee trampoline to defying gravity at the JHMR Bike Park. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has something for every lucky individual blessed to call this place home or just be ‘passing through’.

Have a ‘look-see!’

See you Saturday morning, tram riders.

Wax the skis! Prepare the skins!

Big Red floats past the infamous Corbet’s Couloir. A reminder that skiing inbounds is prohibited.
