Pre-Season Storms Bring Powder & Excitement to

Opening Weekend at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort

(November  25, 2014), Teton Village, WY - With a storm system dropping over 20 inches of snow over the weekend, another 15 inches today, and another foot forecasted by noon tomorrow Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is gearing up for the holiday opening.  Lifts start turning at 9am this Thanksgiving Day - Thursday,  November 27th.  Skiers and riders will enjoy over 2,000 feet of terrain serviced from Teewinot, Après Vous and Casper lifts. Then on Saturday, November 29th the Bridger Gondola, Marmot and Thunder Lifts will open.  With the expanded terrain on Saturday, Jackson Hole will have 3,000 vertical feet with continuous skiing form the top of Thunder to the Village base including Laramie Bowl, Gros Ventre, Tram Line and Sundance.

"Jackson Hole has been getting pounded by this storm cycle - the mountains received over 6 feet of snow since November 9th; we even see mid-winter conditions at the base and valley floor.  Frankly, it is turning into an exceptional snow year, if this pattern continues," stated JHMR Chief Marketing Officer, Adam Sutner.  "With plenty of terrain open and events in Teton Village and the Town of Jackson, this is a great time of year to take advantage of early season rates with Ski Free, Stay Free package which was intended exactly for scenarios such as this," Sutner noted.

For Thanksgiving and Friday, Café 6311 and The General Store will be open at the base of the mountain, and on Saturday The Rendezvous in the Rendezvous Lodge at the top of the Bridger Gondola will open for the season.  Nick Wilson's at the Village base will be open for après ski drink service starting at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.  Jackson Hole Sports and Teton Village Sports are open daily at 8am.
