Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Reports Second Best Winter Season in History

(Teton Village, WY, April 7, 2015) - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is pleased to report a strong 2014/2015 winter season.  The resort's 546,125 skier visits marks the second highest in Resort history, after a record-setting winter 2014 with over 563,000 skier days.  The 2014/2015 season finished with 316 inches of snow, and 75-inch snow depth making this winter a below- average year for snowfall in the Tetons. The success of the season is attributed to many factors, including increased air service, early season snow, and JHMR's commitment to guest service.

"This was a challenging year in terms of snowfall, but our business remained strong and steady all season long, due in part to the hard work of our community and resort staff," Jerry Blann, JHMR President stated. "We developed more pre-Christmas business by adding flights early season and opening on Thanksgiving Day.  The Christmas and New Year's holiday period was punctuated with good snow resulting in a few record days. The President's Day weekend was consistent to the year prior, and the season finished strong with the Easter holiday," noted Blann.  "The experience JHMR and the community of Jackson Hole provides our guests is unparalleled in the industry. We are thrilled to see our guest service scores on a positive trend as well as our return visitors, which are two key benchmarks for our industry," Blann added.

In celebration of the 50thAnniversary next winter, JHMR will open up new intermediate and advanced terrain with the addition of the new Teton Lift.  Installation of the high speed quad chairlift will take place this summer, as the culmination of a three year transformation of the Crags area.  Work began two summers ago to create the first new lift serviced terrain within the ski area boundary since 1998.  With the Teton Lift, situated between the Après Vous and Casper lifts, skiers and riders will enjoy 200 new acres of intermediate and advance terrain that was formerly hike to only.

Construction is also underway at the Rendezvous Lodge where a renovated deli will be transformed into an entirely new bistro style restaurant, Piste, which will open next winter.  This 120-seat mountain rustic bistro has a contemporary design where guests take in timeless views in a warm and inviting atmosphere.  The Piste restaurant offers a new experience for Jackson Hole on-mountain dining, designed so guests can eat, lounge and relax in contrast to the more formal Couloir and super-casual Rendezvous,  all located in the same building.

Additions to the summer operation are also underway, with a new drop tower being added to the Grand Adventure Park.  Three styles of jumps from varying heights, highest being 60 feet off the ground are offered from the feature, and for $35 visitors can get three jumps.  The tower is slated to open by late June and is located just uphill from The Ropes Course, 2014's popular new addition to Teton Village summer offerings.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will open the Aerial Tram for the summer season on Saturday, May 23rd.  The Jackson Hole Mountain Bike Park accessed by the Teewinot Chairlift is scheduled to open on June 13th, followed by the Bridger Gondola and the Couloir Restaurant on June 17th.  The Deck at the top of the Bridger Gondola will open on June 21st.  The Aerial Adventure Course will open for the season on June 21st.  For complete information on summer dining, events, and activities please visit

50th Anniversary Winter 2015.16

Over its nearly fifty-year history Jackson Hole has evolved, but the spirit remains bold and wild, as the last true bastion for all those who dare to live this dream. JHMR was kick-started in the early 1960's by the passionate dream of its founders, Paul McCollister and Alex Morley. From humble and rugged beginnings, this dream was fully realized decades later with the ingenuity of a family with historic ties to the Cowboy State. In their tenure of ownership since 1992, the Kemmerer family has invested greatly in the prosperity of Jackson Hole and the state of Wyoming. With vast improvements to operations, lifts and infrastructure, they have ushered JHMR into its present-day luster and world-wide iconic status as "The Big One." Next winter, JHMR is celebrating that "Born to Be Wild" spirit all season long with events, a video web series produced by TGR, and the transformation of ‘The Crags' area with the December 2015 opening of the brand new Teton Lift as well as three new groomed runs. This new high-speed quad lift will carry skiers and riders 1,600 vertical feet to an area that has previously only been accessible via hiking.
