11/26/15 | JHMR Opens for the 50th Anniversary Winter Season, Flashback Friday Celebration November 27th
(November 26, 2015), Teton Village, WY - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) opened for the winter season today, Thanksgiving Day. With a combination of natural snow fall and snowmaking efforts, JHMR opened Après Vous Mountain with excellent conditions for skiers and riders.
Opening day is followed by a fun and festive Flashback Friday celebration, tomorrow, November 27th, when lift tickets will be $6, the original price for skiing at JHMR when the resort first opened in 1965. And that's not all, there will be $6 rentals and waxes at JH Sports, Teton Village Sports and Hoback Sports, plus free ski and snowboard lessons (one hour clinics available, sign up at the base that day for a time). Live music at the base of the gondola and $6 food and drink specials from Teton Village restaurants such as Nick Wilson's, the Mangy Moose, the Handle Bar and the Spur will be going all day long. Costumes from all the decades are encouraged, and will make for a fun throwback vibe.
"We're excited to start the season by giving back to our community a day of fun and six dollar skiing. We're especially pleased that all ticket proceeds from the day will be donated to four local non-profits," Adam Sutner, JHMR Chief Marketing Officer noted. Those four charities have been selected as they represent the four key values of JHMR: Guest Service (Always an Ambassador), Employee Culture (Have Fun), Safety and Environment. This year the four non-profits selected are Honoring Our Veterans, Friends of Pathways, Teton County Search & Rescue, and Teton Clean Energy Coalition. All non-profits will be on site for the Flashback Friday festivities so guests can learn more about the organizations.
