Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Completes New Employee Housing
(September 14, 2015), Teton Village, WY - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) has completed its new employee housing units in the town of Jackson. The three building complex, housing 94 workers is the first of its kind for the Jackson Hole community, and demonstrates JHMR's leadership and commitment to solutions for affordable housing in Teton County.
"JHMR is proud to be able to provide much needed housing for seasonal employees of JHMR and other community businesses," stated JHMR President, Jerry Blann. "In addition to JHMR employees, we have signed contracts with Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole, Hotel Terra and Teton Mountain Lodge to house many of their employees," Blann added. These housing units allow JHMR to meet and exceed Teton County housing requirements tied to the resort master plan. "JHMR worked diligently and thoughtfully every step of the process and the result is well-conceived, efficient units that are practical and appealing to employees," Blann noted.
The new housing development in West Jackson on the Powderhorn property is approximately a 2.32 acre tract of land located directly south of Kmart. Powderhorn is convenient to shopping, restaurants and Start Bus service. The project is comprised of three, 2 and 3-story hybrid buildings. The units were designed and developed with a team that includes Hoyt CTA Architects and Zaist Construction Management. The floor plan is a four-bedroom, lock off design. Each unit is comprised of a standard living/dining area, kitchen, 2 full bathrooms with each tenant having their own 110 square foot bedroom and closet which lock off from the rest of the unit. In addition, there is ample storage for bikes and skis and laundry facilities are located on each floor. Units are fully furnished and the rents have been designed to meet the budgets of the seasonal employee.

50th Anniversary Winter 2015-16
Over its nearly 50 year history Jackson Hole has evolved, but the spirit remains bold and wild, as the last true bastion for all those who dare to live this dream. JHMR was kick-started in the early 1960's by the passionate dream of its founders, Paul McCollister and Alex Morley. From humble and rugged beginnings, this dream was fully realized decades later with the ingenuity of a family with historic ties to the Cowboy State. In their tenure of ownership since 1992, the Kemmerer family has invested greatly in the prosperity of Jackson Hole and the state of Wyoming. With vast improvements to operations, lifts and infrastructure, they have ushered JHMR into its present-day luster and world-wide iconic status as "The Big One." Next winter, JHMR is celebrating that "Born to Be Wild" spirit all season long with events, a video web series produced by TGR, and ‘The Crags' will undergo a transformation with the construction and December 2015 opening of the brand new Teton Lift. This new high-speed quad lift will carry skiers and riders 1,600 vertical feet to an area that has previously only been accessible via hiking.
