The title says it all. Powderhounds across the valley have been rejoicing in the last 72 hours as storm skiing conditions have descended on us here in Northwest Wyoming. After our New Year’s storm, we ‘managed’ a few days of sunshine and groomer skiing that recently gave way to wind, blowing snow, and deep powder turns early Sunday morning. Conditions are on the rise, literally, as base depths are increasing and snow levels movin’ on up. Sunday’s bounty of snow accrued to 13″ in 24 hours with 5 of those inches falling overnight, kicking off the new week with a fresh canvas and ‘top-shelf blower’, as snow reporter and skier extraordinaire, Jeff Leger, would term it.

Queen of Corbet’s, Caite Zeliff, simply goes KA-POW.

Needless to say, the hoots and hollers on Monday morning echoed for hours as those lucky enough to have a ‘sick day’ joined in on the fun of leaving their marks across Rendezvous Mountain. With the ropes dropping on the Hobacks last week, our ski patrol and Mother Nature have done a great job of allowing terrain to open for the powderhounds to enjoy. Not to mention the addition of Casper Bowl and Crags to the hit list for every powder seeker last week. Get out and start checking ’em off!

UPDATE (7:15 MST, Tuesday): As of ‘press time’ on this blog, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort had seen 25″ in 72 hours and as I gaze out the window thinking about the turns from this morning as opposed to sitting at my keyboard, it doesn’t appear to be letting up at the moment. And for that, powderhounds rejoice!

Want to join in on the fun yourself? Are you a passholder of another resort? Turn your home mountains season pass into a Golden Ticket in Jackson Hole this January. Beginning January 7 – 31, 2019, as part of our Golden Ticket Promotion, all season passholders from any resort worldwide can enjoy 40%   off lift tickets at JHMR. That’s right, you read that correctly. 40% off lift tickets here at JHMR for all you powderhounds and groomer seekers through the month of January. Also, for those traveling further than a road trip, the word is out that American, Delta, and United Airlines have all begun offering affordable fares for the rest of the season so that definitely warrants some investigation if you’re asking me. Buy the (golden) ticket, take the ride! We’ll see you on the hill for some good old-fashioned Wyoming fun this January.

As always our photographers and videographers were on the hill taking it all these last two days and giving those of you living vicariously a chance to get in on the fun. Check out some photos of recent conditions and moments of stoke below.
