The IFSA Junior Freeride Competition has come to a close. Over 90 athletes, ages ranging from 11-18, descended on Jackson Hole over the last two days to test their big mountain skills. With a historic amount of snow falling in January course conditions were optimal for big air and fluid lines.

Soft landings aplenty in Tower 3

Day 1 was held at Toilet Bowl giving athletes a wide array of line choices. Soft conditions and an ample amount of cliffs to send allowed for a truly entertaining day. Check out the full recap and results from day 1 here

After a successful first day of competition, cuts were made the starting list to those who did not make the top half of their division. The venue on day 2 upped the ante by moving lookers left to Tower 3 chute. Despite challenging lighting and heavy snow falling, the event staff gave the green light. A steeper and more technical course gave the athletes a true big mountain experience that required precise line choice to please the judges.
