Scouts

Grades: Preschool children, ages 3-5
Ability Level: Beginner – Advanced Level Skiers

Cultivate your child’s abilities during the 12-week Scouts program for preschool skiers. Staff trained in early childhood development create a fun atmosphere and allow young skiers to progress at their own pace. Children will have a gentle and inspired introduction to skiing by participating in both indoor and outdoor activities. Once Scouts are able to confidently stop and turn they will be placed into appropriate age and ability groups. Scouts is offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Saturday.

*Beginner skiers are encouraged sign up for either the Tuesday or Wednesday programs as there is limited availability for beginners on Saturday.

Price: $1,020  (lunch included)

Rangers

From first timers to Tram riders, students of all abilities go on adventures and improve their skills during the 12-week Rangers program. Our progressive curriculum finds instructors building on the skills taught the week before, with a continuous emphasis on safety, fun and learning. Throughout the season, children are challenged in a fun, supportive atmosphere. Activities, drills and games help develop their skills. Offered Saturdays.

Price: $1,020 (lunch included)

Teton Village Racers and Riders

Ability: Intermediate to Expert Skiers and Snowboarders

Teton Village Racers and Riders will explore the mountain and improve their skills during this 12-week program. Professional instructors focus on drill-oriented training, directed freeriding and, of course, fun. Students explore the entire mountain with forays into the park and pipe. Racing and mountain awareness are emphasized throughout the curriculum. On the first day, students are assessed by ability and aggressiveness in order to build cohesive groups. Offered Saturdays.

Evolution Team

Grades: 2nd – 12th 
Ability: Intermediate – Expert level Skiers and Snowboarders
Focus: Freestyle Skiing/Riding

The Evolution Team is the premier freestyle training program for skiers and riders in 2nd through 12th grade.  The focus of the 12 week program is to provide an introduction to freestyle, big mountain, and high level skiing and riding techniques.  No previous terrain park or big mountain skills necessary.  Evolution Team coaches will guide you through the basic levels of freestyle such as 180°s and 360°s, boxes and rails, as well as switch riding and half-pipe.  The Evolution Team is focused on learning to make responsible on-snow choices, having fun, and discovering what interests you about freeskiing/freeriding.

Notes:

  • All first year athletes are accepted on a trial basis to ensure a fun and safe experience for everyone. The trial period will last no longer than the first two weeks of the program, at which time coaches will meet and decide the best fit for all new athletes.
  • All first year athletes must be able to confidently ski/ride most moderate blue terrain without stopping in most conditions.
  • Lunch is included on Saturdays only.

Teton Village Ski Team welcomes advanced- through expert-level skiers. Team members must be able to execute strong technique on double blue runs in all conditions, and have the desire to work on race technique. Our expert coaches – racers themselves – guide skiers in practice sessions that emphasize fun, drills and gate training. Ski Team sessions span 12 all-day Saturdays and 12 half-day Sundays.

Jackson Hole Mountain Rippers

A stepping stone for skiers and snowboarders who are just starting out, yet aspire to greatness. Open to 2nd to 9th grade beginners, Jackson Hole Mountain Rippers program encourages beginners to excel with peers of their same age and ability. The program, spanning 9 weeks on Sunday afternoons, introduces kids to Jackson Hole’s versatile terrain.

JH Anomaly Team

Ability: Advanced - Competition Level Skiers and Snowboarders

The JH Anomaly Team is the Freestyle/Freeride ski and snowboard program for dedicated young athletes from 6th grade to 12th grade. Over the course of the 18 week program your coaches will focus on big mountain skills, terrain park skills, and the highest level skiing and riding techniques. Introductions to avalanche education and beacon searching are also frequent topics. Led by Head Coach Brent Abrams, former X Games competitor and professional coach on the Dew Tour, as well as our Mountain Sports School assistant coaches, all of whom specialize in various aspects of freestyle skiing and riding to take your skills to the next level.

Athletes are encouraged to participate in local JHMR competitions* such as:

  • JH Jr Freeride Open
  • USASA Slopestyle
  • USASA Halfpipe
  • Dick's Ditch Banked Slalom
  • *Participation in competitions is not mandatory

  • All first year athletes must be able to confidently ski/ride most single black diamond terrain without stopping in most conditions. First year athletes should consider owning appropriate gear to handle both on and off-piste conditions.
  • All athletes must complete a pre-season baseline concussion test with a health care professional before their first day of on-snow practice. Further concussion tests may also be required to resume practice following an incident.
  • Lunch is NOT included. Please ensure that team members have sufficient funds to purchase lunch.
