JH Rendezvous Music Under The Tram: Screen Door Porch
Location: Tram Stage, Teton Village WY
Time: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Screen Door Porch delivers a fusion of soulful Americana, Roots-Rock and Country-Blues that has been likened to "Gillian Welch meets The Band, with Ryan Adams and Bonnie Raitt hanging out backstage" (605 Magazine). Grooving, electrified porch music, that is. The core female/male singer-songwriter pair of Seadar Rose & Aaron Davis thrive in a space that houses rustic harmonies and "a sort of Lennon/McCartney arrangement and get it right every time" (Americana UK). Part of Screen Door Porch's MO has always been a breadth of instrumentation for just four people-acoustic/electric/slide guitars, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and kazoogle reinforced by the emphatic rhythm section of fretless bassist Tom Davidson and drummer/harmony vocalist Andy Peterson. This dynamic range allows for an infectious swagger of gritty, slide-induced blues-rock to sultry indie-folk, evidenced on the bands third LP, Modern Settler (2015).

This multi-award winning New England-based songwriter discovered his father's collection of eight-track tapes as a child and never looked back. After early exposure to songwriter legends like Neil Young, Paul Simon, Jim Croce and Van Morrison along with Motown heavies like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight, Jason was inspired to start making the rounds on coffee house stages in his teens. Shortly thereafter, he spent time in Europe performing in folk & blues clubs and on the streets of London and around Spain. Once back in the states, he landed a job at a roots & blues record label where he witnessed numerous Blues legends (including members of the original Muddy Waters band ) making magic in recording sessions. Before long, Jason jumped head-first into the Northeast's burgeoning songwriter scene.

It's not always easy to sum up a career - let alone a life's ambition - so succinctly, but those five words from Robert Earl Keen's calling-card anthem just about do it. You can complete the lyric with the next five words - the ones routinely shouted back at Keen by thousands of fans a night ("and the party never ends!") - just to punctuate the point with a flourish, but it's the part about the journey that gets right to the heart of what makes Keen tick. Some people take up a life of playing music with the goal of someday reaching a destination of fame and fortune; but from the get-go, Keen just wanted to write and sing his own songs, and to keep writing and singing them for as long as possible.

"When you're up there and you got like 100,000 people jumping up and down, that's what the frequencies are capable of doing. If you could take somebody away with music, that's a gift man. It's kinda like an audio abduction. I wanna pick the audience up, and then drop 'em back off." -Mix Master Mike.
