(Teton Village, WY., February 23, 2009) - This season, the Jackson Hole Mountain Sports School’s popular Steep and Deep camp will have an ADAPTIVE division.  This four day camp is targeted for advanced skiers with any type of disability interested in a “big mountain” ski experience.  The Camps focus will be to develop and refine the skills necessary to ski steeper off-piste terrain comfortably. Jeff Inouye, assistant ski director at the B.O.E.C., along with special guest coach and Paralympic Gold Medalist Greg Manino will lead the coaching staff of JH Adaptive Program instructors. Another theme for this event is “inclusion” as all adaptive skiers will participate in all camp group activities. “We are moving towards opening more opportunities for people with disabilities at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort,” says Kurt Henry, event organizer. “Steep and Deep is what Jackson Hole has.” Come challenge yourself with the legendary terrain and snow conditions of Jackson Hole!

Camp fee includes coaching, lift tickets, video analysis, lunches, après ski activities, awards dinner, cat skiing (weather permitting), and more!  For more information and to register please call Adaptive Director Kurt Henry at 307-699-3554 or email tetonadaptive@aol.com.  Financial assistance and lodging discounts are available through Teton Adaptive Sports, Wyoming’s chapter of Disabled Sports/USA.

March 3rd is Adaptive Awareness Day! The Adaptive Mountain Sports School will be available to answer questions about their programs in conjunction with our Adaptive Steep and Deep Camp, March 5-8. They will also have equipment available for the public to demo. Call 307-699-3554 for more information.

The Jackson Hole Adaptive Ski Program has been teaching individuals with disabilities how to ski since 1984. We serve people with all disabilities including, but not limited to, autism, amputees, cerebral palsy, developmentally disabled, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and visually impaired. Our staff is made up of certified adaptive ski instructors and also volunteers, who are all trained in particular disciplines. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's program is smaller than most adaptive ski programs, which enables us to focus more attention on the clients and cater to his or her specific needs. Most of our participants are return clients, with whom we have developed close and friendly relationships.

JHMR is third party ISO certified as a "green" company, the second of only two ski resorts, and one of the smaller companies in the US, to achieve this recognition. ISO 14001 certification is the most widely known and respected environmental stamp of approval, which demonstrates responsible management of our environmental impacts. For more information go to
