11/3/15 | Snow in the Tetons: Jackson Hole Opening Thanksgiving Day and $6 Skiing Friday, November 27th, 2015

(November 3, 2015), Teton Village, WY- Snow has been falling consistently since October 29th in the Tetons, and with 22 inches of snow now blanketing the upper reaches of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR), and more in the forecast, Jackson Hole is preparing for the ski season ahead.

JHMR is pleased to kick off the 50th anniversary winter season with a Thanksgiving Day opening, Thursday, November 26th. Opening day is followed by a fun and festive Flashback Friday celebration on November 27th, when lift tickets will be $6, the original price for skiing at JHMR when the resort first opened in 1965. And that's not all, there will be $6 rentals and waxes at JH Sports, Teton Village Sports and Hoback Sports, plus free ski and snowboard lessons (one hour clinics available, sign up at the base that day for a time). Live music at the base of the gondola and $6 food and drink specials from Teton Village restaurants such as Nick Wilson's, the Mangy Moose, the Handle Bar and the Spur will be going all day long.

Costumes from all the decades are encouraged, and will make for a fun throwback vibe. Terrain and lift openings will be dependent upon snow conditions, and will be announced closer to opening.

"We're excited to start the season by giving back to our community a day of fun and six dollar skiing. We're especially pleased that all ticket proceeds from the day will be donated to four local non-profits," Adam Sutner, JHMR Chief Marketing Officer noted. Those four charities have been selected as they represent the four key values of JHMR: Guest Service (Always an Ambassador), Employee Culture (Have Fun), Safety and Environment. This year the four non-profits selected are Honoring Our VeteransFriends of PathwaysTeton County Search & Rescue, and Teton Clean Energy Coalition. All non-profits will be on site for the Flashback Friday festivities so guests can learn more about the organizations.
