Stemming from a relentless desire to create something new, Big Wild's sound taps into the natural curiosity we all share by exploring beyond conventional boundaries in music. This spark was ignited when he first began creating music under the heavy influence of modern hip hop producers. Since then, he has increasingly drawn inspiration from the limitless potential of electronic music, while at the same time building a style unique to him.?
Head to Head
I started playing guitar at age 9 and soon after began playing the bass, piano and drums. Although I enjoy them all I have studied drums the most seriously. Growing up I performed regularly in a young Indie band called Thirsty and then from 2009 through 2012 played more complex arrangements with a band called Spatial Relations. In 2011 I started producing my own music under the name Souly Hitz, a project mainly influenced by Hip-Hop/Jazz/Electro styles of music. After constantly learning and building tracks of my own, I teamed up with Otto to create the production duo that is Head to Head. After constant argument with my parents about dropping out of film school, they have finally realized I am fully devoted to my music.
I started my music career with piano 10 years ago and after many piano lessons I picked up the drums and have never looked back. Over the years I’ve studied with various drum and percussion teachers and have been involved in various music projects such as the Jackson Hole Music Experience, the Community Band and the Wyoming State Concert Band. Having a diverse musical background in Jazz, Funk, and Blues Rock, I look forward to adding these genres to Head to Head’s new electronic, ambient, and Hip Hop vibe. After not succeeding at anything I think I’m going to give this a try;).
