Hi! I'm Daniel Tisi. I'm 13 years old and I LOVE to ski! After a summer of training on snow at a summer camp and a lot of trampolining, soccer and mountain biking I am so happy winter is finally here. I compete in Freestyle comps in the slopestyle and half pipe events through the USASA organization. I also compete in big mountain competitions. For competitions my family and I travel to resorts like Sun Valley, Park City, Snowbird, Copper Mountain and Grand Targhee but no place compares to my home mountain, Jackson Hole. I ski on the JH Anomaly Team and with my teammates and coaches we ski every inch of the mountain and have a blast!

I love to compete but what I am most excited about this season is the opportunity I have to film with Teton Gravity Research for their next movie...can't wait! Until then you can see me skiing JHMR (when I am not away competing) and learning new tricks, progressing and having a ton of fun with the Anomaly Team.

Thank you to JHMR, TGR, LINE, FULL TILT and SMITH for supporting me. I am proud to represent my home mountain and wear all the best gear!

JHMR: First off, congrats on winning the TGR Grom Contest. What does it mean to you to win this?
DT: I am SO excited! Thanks TGR for watching all the videos and picking me. I may have a chance of making a career out of one of my most favorite things to do - ski! And I can't wait to ski with the TGR Pros!

JH: You've grown up skiing here at Jackson Hole. How have the Anomaly Team coaches helped shape you into the skier you are? (feel free to name specific coaches/instructors)
DT: My first time on skis was when I was 4 years old and enrolled in the Kids Ranch Ski School Locals Program at JHMR. For the last 4 years I have skied freestyle with the JHMR Anomaly Team. My Anomaly coaches teach me new techniques all the time that help me progress. My coaches know what I can and cannot do. I love skiing with my team and my coaches. Aside from learning a lot we have so much fun skiing around the mountain!

JHMR: I know you're only 12, but what are your ultimate goals with skiing?
DT: I would love to be a "pro" skier someday. Teaching freestyle and big mountain to kids and maybe working at JHMR would be great, too.

JHMR: You seem to travel a lot for contests in the winter. How do you balance school with skiing?
DT: I have to get my schoolwork assignments before I leave for competitions and have it all completed before I come back to school so I am all caught up with my classes. I use the car rides to and from my competitions to get a lot of it done. It is a lot to balance but it has worked out really well over the past 3 seasons that I have been traveling.

JHMR: Are you skiing at all this summer? If so, where? What new tricks are you trying to lockdown?
DT: I trained in June at Woodward at Copper in Colorado. I went to a week-long sleep-a-way camp. I was training on snow in their terrain park and airbag jump all mornings. In the afternoon and evenings I trained in their foam pits, flybeds, rails and snowflex. I learned a bunch of new tricks...Rodeo 9's, Misty 7's and SuperFeds (rail trick). Can't wait to try them with my team this winter!

    JHMR: Shout outs?
DT: Lots of Shout Outs...(in no particular order)

To my brother Jackson who films me and does all my edits and also skis with me all the time.

To all my coaches - especially from Anomaly Rob LaPier (my coach for the past 3 years), Tyler Martin, Ryan Halverson, Trevor Hiatt and Billy Burke and from Woodward Peter O'Brien and Sean O'Donnel.
