Class ski and snowboard lessons for kids 2nd grade - 9th grade.
Explore the great outdoors and shred the slopes of Jackson Hole while improving your skiing/riding skills with specially trained expedition leaders. Scout all the coolest trails, build skills in the terrain park, venture into Wild West Woods and look for moose, porcupine, eagles and other natives of Jackson Hole. This all day program promotes a wonderful learning environment and unique team building. Lunch is provided for full day programs.

Full day lessons begin at 9:30 AM and pick up is at 3:30 PM.
Afternoon lessons begin at 1:00 PM and pick up is at 3:30 PM. Lunch is not included.
Parents Guide to Explorers
Where do you begin?
There are several ways you can get started. By following the links you can purchase your child’s lessons, lift tickets and rental equipment. When you arrive in Jackson , simply come to the Kids Ranch Sales desk to check in and pick up your vouchers.
Alternatively, you can come straight to the Kids Ranch Sales desk. We’re in the Cody House just uphill from the Bridger Gondola. Our sales staff will assist you in choosing the right product for your child and ensure that you have all the correct vouchers and emergency forms filled out.
From there you will move to the rental shop in the Kids Ranch for skis/SBs, boots, poles and helmets (should you need them). The rental shop staff is specially trained in children’s equipment and fitting so your child should be comfortable and safe.
If at all possible, we recommend taking care of all of this the evening before you are going to start skiing/SBing. That way you are ready to go in the morning and can avoid any last minute delays!!
How should you dress your child?
Start with thin layers next to the skin and then add layers according to the weather. Your child’s outerwear should be both water- and wind-proof. A hat or helmet is a must as are waterproof mittens or gloves. Wool or fleece hand wear is not appropriate. A single pair of socks- watch for wrinkles!- should suffice. Be sure your child has sunscreen on and had some sort of eye wear (goggles or glasses).
Now what?
Come see us at the Fort Wyoming corral (behind the Kids Ranch)! Your child should be dressed and ready to go- boots buckled, lift ticket attached to their jacket, lesson voucher in hand ready to turn in ( or tucked in helmet strap). If they have a report card from the day (or year) before, it should also be in a pocket. Our instructor greeters will ask you and your child some questions to assess which level class they should be in. Your child will then be escorted by an instructor to the appropriate class. This is when you say GOOD-BYE!. The corral is a parent free zone for the safety and well being of the children.
How does their day go?
Once with their class, the children will put on their skis/SB and go for a warm-up run on Teewinot Lift. A supervisor will look over all the classes to be sure they are well-matched for ability, speed and when possible for age. Most classes will take a break for water or hot chocolate during the morning. Lunch is between 11:30 and 1:00 then back out to ski/snowboard! All of the groups swing by the Kids Ranch at 1:00PM so if you need to touch base with them, that’s the time to do it! This is also our early pick up time. Classes end at 3:30 PM (except for some special programs); this is a great time to speak with your child’s instructor about their day.
