Backcountry Guide Semi-Private

In order to meet the needs of skiers and riders who want to get out and experience Jackson Hole’s best lift-accessed backcountry skiing with the security and training that the Alpine Guides offer, JH Mountain Sports School’s offer clients backcountry guiding on a semi-private basis. Groups will meet at the back dock of the Tram, ride up to Corbet’s Cabin, review safety protocols and avalanche avoidance and response. Depending on participants’ abilities and conditions of the day, Semi Private guided groups may explore hike-to terrain or venture into JH’s vast backcountry terrain to the south of the resort.

If you’re someone who wants to check out JH’s hidden niches and are interested in backcountry access and skills, but not sure what all is involved, the semi-private is an affordable way to check out what the guides have to offer. You’ll have the chance to learn some new routes, check out the snowpack, search for beacons, and practice safe group travel.

The product is competitively priced to meet the needs of individuals without backcountry travel partners, and lasts for six hours (three if only one signs up). The price of $210 per person or $275 with a lift ticket.  Beacon, shovel and pack are required and can be rented separately. Guests are responsible for their own food and drink, and should be able to ski black diamond terrain with relative ease. Backcountry offerings necessarily entail some element of risk, and all participants must sign a waiver.
