Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Announces New Mountain Sports School Director

(June 11, 2015- Teton Village, WY)  Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is pleased to announce Jim Kercher as the new Senior Director of Mountain Sports School (MSS).  Kercher returns to Jackson Hole with over thirty years of ski industry experience, most recently as the Director of Resort Services at Beaver Creek.  "We are thrilled to bring Jim back to Jackson Hole," stated Jerry Blann, JHMR President.  "Jim worked for JHMR as the MSS Director in the 1990's, and since then has had a very successful career with Vail Resorts.  He has gained a great deal of working knowledge of many aspects of the ski industry, and we are excited to see his leadership take the Jackson Hole Mountain Sports School into the next chapter," Blann went on to note.

"I greatly appreciate the opportunity to lead the JHMR Mountain Sports School once again.  There is a long history in strong leadership that was founded by Pepi Stiegler, and continued with myself for a short time in 1990's and then carried through by Brian Maguire into the current era, " stated Kercher.  "Maguire helped nurture a staff of the most talented men and women in the industry, and I look forward to re-joining this legacy institution," Kercher noted.

An extensive nationwide search for a new director began in April, following the resignation of Brian Maguire.  "Maguire served as the director for seventeen years, and he was truly an innovative and well respected leader for the Mountain Sports School," stated Blann.   Kercher rose to the top of the search based on his tenured career, in particular his most recent position at Beaver Creek where he grew one of the largest ski schools in the country to create a dynamic and loyal customer base.   Kercher brings industry leading experience back to Jackson which will combine impeccably well with the distinctive Jackson Hole guest service culture.

Kercher will assume his new role in July.
