Bridger Gondola and Thunder Open Dec. 8th

Bridger Gondola and Thunder Chairlift Opening December 8th at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR)
(Teton Village, Wyo., December 6, 2007) – Thanks to over 105” of snowfall on the upper mountain, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will open both the Bridger Gondola and Thunder Chairlift this weekend, providing over 3,050 vertical feet of terrain.
Saturday, December 8, 2007, JHMR will operate 4 out of 11 lifts, Thunder Quad Chair, Bridger Gondola, Apres Vous and Teewinot High Speed Quads, opening approximately 50% of our 2500 acres to skiing and riding. Due to early season conditions, guests are advised to use caution when traveling off the groomed trails.
Riders will use the South Pass Traverse to connect from the bottom of Amphitheater to Lower Werner or Lower Teewinot to return to the base of Bridger as terrain above and below the traverse at the time of this release remains closed. If snowfall and colder temperatures continue, routes to the base will increase, along with snowmaking efforts.
JHMR Ski Patrol would like to remind guests to respect the closed signs clearly posted adjacent to the newly opened terrain. The terrain beyond these signs although within the ski area boundaries has not been avalanche controlled and due to the current snowpack is considered highly dangerous.
“The deep snow on the upper mountain is where our guests want to be, and we are pleased to be able to provide them access to it so early in the season,” commented Jerry Blann, JHMR President.
Couloir Restaurant and Bar at the top of the Bridger Gondola opens this weekend for dinner beginning December 7th and will be open Wednesday thru Sunday nights for dinner all season. To make your holiday reservations now, call (307) 739-2675.
