The Big One is Released!

(Teton Village , Wyo. , November 20, 2006) – It’s been ski industry history in the making. Ten years of Teton Gravity Research (TGR) calling Jackson Hole Mountain Resort home has resulted in, THE BIG ONE, a new feature movie showcasing TGR’s most epic ski and snowboard moments at their world famous home laboratory in Jackson Hole, WY.
Jackson Hole has been a catalyst for some of the most progressive freeskiing and snowboarding in the world. From Paul McCollister's vision of North America's largest tram, the Kemmerer family stewardship, TGR's inception in 1996, and the 10 years of off the hook action that followed, no other mountain could be called the “The Big One.”
“As JHMR celebrates our 40th season, this movie project with TGR was a natural fit. From their early, maverick years to the recent co-operative stunts, TGR’s talents combined with Jackson Hole terrain have created some legendary visuals. It’s been very rewarding to see both companies develop a way to work together – we are lucky to have them here, to capture the best athletes pushing the limits every year,” commented Jerry Blann, President JHMR.
From the movie check out some of TGR's earliest stars as they reflect on the most memorable segments. “Sick” Rick Armstrong talks about the all-time huckfest during the filming of the Continuum. Micah Black sheds light on the 30-year record snowfall at Jackson Hole … possibly the deepest footage ever and TGR co-founder Todd Jones talks about closed boundary days and the freedom after 1999.
