Sports Illustrated Next Snow Search
NBC Sports To Broadcast "All-Stars" Event On Sunday, February 25, 2007 Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will host one of the qualifying events for the 2007 SPORTS ILLUSTRATED KIDS Next Snow SEARCH , a national talent search to find young athletes who best represent the next generation of extreme skiers and snowboarders. The season-long search will be made up of more than 70 qualifying, including six super-qualifier (one at Jackson Hole), events held at resorts across the United States and Canada from December 2006 - February 2007. The series will culminate in the championships at Killington Resort, VT, from March 2-4, 2007. For the Finals, Killington will host more than 150 athletes (age 9-13), who have been selected from the qualifying events to compete in everything from park and pipe, to bumps, racing, and big mountain skiing - a three-day test of all-around skill on snow. A centerpiece of this year's Next Snow Search program is the second annual "All-Stars" event, which will bring together the elite members of the 2005 and 2006 Next Snow teams for two days of competition at Colorado's Steamboat Resort. On February 2 & 3, the best of the best will compete in an all-around test of skill for the honor of being named to the prestigious SI KIDS "All-Stars Team." A one-hour show featuring the SI KIDS Next Snow Search "All-Stars" will air on NBC Sports on Sunday, February 25, 1-2 PM EST.
