Guest Education for KIDS

JHMR Introduces The Wild West Woods Ski Terrain for 05/06

When young skiers and riders are ready to leave the comfort of  the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Kids Ranch, they can now venture into the Wild West Woods! The Wild West Woods have turned some of JHMR's beginner ski slopes into an old west adventure for kids, including teepees, ranch style ski-throughs, bridges, and life size animal figures hidden in the forest. Nestled amongst the trees, an "old settler's tent" will act as a warming hut for kids, complete with furs, skins, and educational displays emphasizing the environment and mountain wildlife. Six new trails have been built with themes including the scat and the skull trails, tree identification, snow science, and physical features such as a mini terrain park, and race course to promote skill building. Wild West Woods Trail Maps will be available so children can scout the area they want to explore

"The Wild West Woods will be a fun place to develop skiing and riding skills while discovering the incredible natural environment and some of the old west lore of Jackson Hole," commented Kath Roe, Mountain Sports School Children's Manager.

Educating our Staff

First Tracks : Green Tracks

JHMR commits to educating our staff via an internal weekly newsletter. Stories, facts and columns are written by staff for staff.

Programs that support our Green Initiatives

JHMR Emergency Ride Home Program

The goal of the Emergency Ride Home Program (ERHP) is to provide a safety net for employees who carpool or take alternative means of transportation to work in the Village. We actively promote carpooling and alternative means of transport and want to ensure that employees who must leave work quickly are able to do so in the face of an emergency. This program is not intended to be a ride service for poor transportation planning.

Workers qualify for the program if they did not personally drive to work the day of the emergency. Break downs or other issues which prevent an individual from driving their personal car home, including intoxication, do not qualify. The program is to be used under emergency situations only, be they personal or family related.
