Snow in September? In Jackson Hole? Yes, and yes. It’s not uncommon, and right now, it’s dumping snow at the top of the Aerial Tram! Early this morning, thick clouds only gave a partial glimpse of the white mountain tops.  Then, as the first tram of the day descended from the clouds,  it was clear that winter has hit the upper mountain.

Oh, and by the way, here is what I found on my early morning tram trip:

Corbet’s Cabin at its finest.

A fresh layer of snow on top of Rendezvous Mountain, with more on the way.

Waffles anyone? Seems like the perfect day for a hot drink and a bacon, peanut butter waffle!

Hiking is not encouraged or discouraged.

Lots of snow blowing and building. The forecast shows continued snow to 8,000 feet through Thursday, as well as possible snow in the valley. After the snow, the weather looks great with sunny weather, cooler night temperatures – all of the key ingredients for perfect fall adventures.

Corbet’s Couloir is snowing and blowing!
