Nothing says Happy Thanksgiving in Jackson Hole like the sweet sound of lifts running and skiers turning through fresh Teton snow. For the second year in a row, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is kicking off the holidays and ushering in another powder-filled winter by opening it’s hills for locals and visitors to play in over 91″ inches (and counting) of groomed and off-piste terrain from Apres Vous to Casper. And then some…read on!

This Thanksgiving Day 2014, on the heels of FORBES #1 Ski Resort in North America Announcement (four years running, just saying…)  Jackson Hole will roll out winter with over 2,000 feet of terrain serviced from Teewinot, Après Vous and Casper lifts.

According to Chief Marketing Officer Adam Sutner, “The mountains have received over 4.5 feet of snow in the last two weeks, and with the increased snowmaking on the lower mountain, the conditions for this Thanksgiving weekend will be fantastic.”

On top of a robust Thanksgiving opener, conditions are looking so good that we’re happy to announce Saturday will be the big kahuna with a November 29th Bridger Gondola, Marmot and Thunder Lifts opening. This access covers a great portion of Jackson’s most celebrated terrain that’s both fit and fun for skiers of all levels –ideal for family togetherness over the holidays.

If you’re making a day of it at the Village, there’s plenty of venues to warm-up for Thanksgiving lunch or dinner. The Mountain’s Café 6311 and The General Store will be open at the base on Thanksgiving and Friday, and on Saturday The Rendezvous in the Rendezvous Lodge at the top of the Bridger Gondola will open for the season. Jackson Hole Sports and Teton Village Sports are open daily at 8am for a little post-turkey shopping.

MD-and-MADE-Exterior

Speaking of post-turkey plans and shopping, there’s plenty to do off -piste this weekend.  American Express-sponsored Small Business Saturday has highlighted local retail outfits MADE and Mountain Dandy (just off the town square in Gaslight Alley with another location in the lobby of Hotel Terra in Teton Village) with the distinction of being a select small business retailer not only here in Jackson Hole but across the US as a whole. Shoppers are encouraged to “shop small,” local and in-person for significant savings on Saturday, November 29th on Small Business Saturday. We could not be more proud of our community partners over at MADE and Mountian Dandy for their recognition in this category and for casting a light on Jackson Hole’s larger culture of creativity and shop-local business approach.

A fun complement to Small Business Saturday will be happening in The Village,  with some fun and freebees from Skullcandy. Stop by the booth located below the Bridger Center November 29th and 30th for cool prizes and don’t miss a chance to enter their amazing DROP IN contest now through December 1st. Discount vouchers for Skullcandy gear will also be available at the booth which are valid for November 29th and 30th at three JHMR retail locations – JH Sports, Teton Village Sports and Hoback Sports. On Sunday morning, follow the clues on JHMR Twitter (@jhski) to find Crusher headphones around the mountain. First one to find a Crusher set gets to take them home.

This Thanksgiving at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village and in Town really packs it in with skiing, eating, shopping and having fun with family and friends. It’s the perfect way to kick-off another season that at the very least promises coldsmoke powder snow, Casper hot-chocolates and tram laps for days. The perfect answer to your tryptophan woes.
