There’s something fulfilling about riding a horse out here. After a long week of hanging with my toddler, and working on my computer in my spare time, I needed a moment to myself in the worst way. My Mom and I usually do an a trail ride at Mill Iron Ranch once a summer, and I figured there was no better day. Since we’ve ridden there at least once a year for the past 8 years, we knew the drill, knew the ride we’d take and remembered our favorite horses.
Jackson Hole’s annual and highly anticipated Fall Arts Festival is well underway with the Western Design Conference, Palates and Palettes tonight and Taste of the Tetons, so the #holefood focus in Jackson is high right now. It’s perfect timing for this dedicated Friday Food forum where we explore the culinary landscape of Jackson Hole all in with a spirit of excitement surrounding Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Fine Dinging Restaurant Groups joint venture From the Range – Jackson Hole cooks at the James Beard House.
Executive Chef Roger Freedman and Wes Hamilton are partnering to bring the best of Jackson Hole’s culinary palate to New York City. Freedman’s palate has a place throughout the valley spanning from Rendezvous Bistro to Osteria and even to a little delicious and lesser-known pet ice cream project. Fine Dining’s Restaurants will be represented at Palates & Palates, tonight, September 5th the Legacy Gallery and Dwelling with all Jackson Hole Restaurants and Bistro Catering as well as to Asymbol Gallery with Q Roadhouse & Brewing Co.

It’s no secret that kids and especially teenagers thrive off of adrenaline and risk. Here’s a way to challenge your kids in a way that’s not dangerous, but is challenging their brains and their bodies at the same time. If your kids have had enough of the same old thing, take them to Teton Village for one last punch of summer.
I took my favorite 8 and 12 year old gals for a morning date at the village, and we did it up. We screamed our way through the bungee jumping, (yeah, I did it too!) and then made our way up the brand new ropes course!

After a great high water spring season here in Jackson, Wyoming and paddling every day the summer kicked in at Rendezvous River Sports. 12 hour work days ensue for three straight months. Getting out on the water after the longest days of work is the only thing keeping us sane. Thanks to the long days and a great river surf season we manage to keep in shape through the summer.

Heading out for a mountain bike ride from town, you’re hard pressed to beat the fun and adventure of West Game Creek. Hiding behind Snow King, West Game allows you relatively quick access to the sublime feeling of solitude. In addition to flowing singletrack, significant portions of West Game Creek were burned by wildfires in September 2012, providing for a dramatic backdrop on a ride.
