2013/14 was a blur of season in Jackson Hole (although they all are) and we decided to take a look back at some of the more memorable days of the season.
The snow started falling in earnest in late October. This photo is from tram worker Mark Hannon who captured an absolutely gorgeous sunrise at the top of the tram on October 29th:
Just like that the season is wrapping up in just 4 days. When we look back the memories once again are epic. From getting married at the top of Rendezvous Peak to many powder days, we are once again grateful for our season here. With only a couple blog posts left in the season there is one that we couldn’t live without. This very post is to give our gratitude to JH SKI PATROL. They are the legends and heroes of the mountain and we want to pay our respects. It is because of them that we slay away each day in safe conditions. Below is an intimate peek into their world where we were honored to check out their homes on the mountain and even meet a few. So here we go…
They say that if March comes in like a lion that it goes out like a lamb. Here in Jackson Hole, both ends of the month achieved Lion status with big storms that contributed to the 4th snowiest March on record in the resort’s 48 year history. With this coming right after the 2nd snowiest February on record, there are some seriously huge snow depths out there right now- the Rendezvous Bowl plot is currently sitting at 140″ inches of settled snow depth.
Bob Comey of the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol and Avalanche Lab compiled some numbers for us and the number four kept coming up: 4th wettest March on record, 4th most snowfall for March on the upper mountain and the Rendezvous Bowl plot base depth at the end of the month of 146″ was the 4th deepest in history. Join us in taking a look back at yet another month full of powder skiing in Jackson Hole.

Jax n’ Lance here to share a really special post with you. This post is special for two reasons. One, because it is a sneak peak at our wedding day that took place at the Top Of the World (Rendezvous Peak) on the Spring Equinox (March 20th) last week. Two, because Lance is on the other side of the camera and in the photos too =)
We took a morning this week and did a little winter adventure that you can only do in Jackson Hole. We toured the elk refuge being pulled by two massive Belgian horses, and saw the nations largest elk herd up close and personal.

I can’t believe Ski School has already come to an end! My kids, ages 5 and 8, had a great experience with the Saturday program this year and my husband and I took full advantage of the opportunity for some ski dates on Saturdays.
