The latest storm has come to an end with a total of 35″ over 3 days, and Jackson Hole has gone over the 200″ mark on the season (207″ officially). All of the snow has us sitting pretty with snow depths well above average, with 88″ on the upper mountain.

The storm began in earnest on Saturday night, and the Sunday morning snow report was 6″. By the time the afternoon rolled around the weather was getting wild and the turns were deep!

By Sunday afternoon an intense winter storm was in full effect. Winter was in charge, as heavy snow and wind with limited visibility created blizzard-like conditions. The Monday morning report was 21″ of snow with winds gusting as high as 60 mph.

Safety of our guests and staff is always priority number one, and due to the high winds and avalanche danger we were unable to open the Tram, Thunder or Sublette. We’d like to thank our ski patrol for all of their hard work in keeping us safe, as well as thanking our guests for their understanding.

By this morning, visibility had improved and with more hard work from the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol, the mountain opened up and many a smile was seen around the mountain. Another 9″ were reported since the Monday morning report, putting the 3-day storm total at 35 inches. The wind and higher density snow combined to buff out the mountain, providing exceptionally smooth turns.
