It seems like just yesterday that we were enjoying winter tram laps this past winter. Now that late May has arrived and (some) snow has melted, its time to ring in the summer season with the re-opening of the Aerial Tram at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. As your “ticket to the top” the Tram cruises 4,139 vertical feet above the valley floor to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain.
You will enjoy incredible views from the top of the mountain, but also on the ride up and down. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife on the lower mountain, where the snow has melted and things are greening up. We saw this Moose the other day, keep your eyes peeled for a variety of other animals as well.
For a high-elevation experience like no other, contact JH Paragliding for a tandem flight off the summit (weather dependent). If you’ve never gone paragliding before, it’s a once in a lifetime experience with unforgettable views.
Stay tuned to the blog for up to date hiking conditions as snow continues to melt. Right now the upper mountain is still covered in a deep snowpack, but lower mountain trails are starting to melt out.
Purchase your tram tickets online to receive $5 off and if you’re bringing the whole family, check out our new Family Tram Pass. $79 gets you a tram ride for 2 adults and up to 4 of their children.
We welcome local residents (Teton County, WY, Teton County, ID, Lincoln County, WY and Sublette County, WY) to ride the Jackson Hole Aerial Tram for free in early and late summer season (May 24-June 13 and Sept 2- Oct 5,2014). For local residents, we’d ask for proof of residency with a drivers’ license or utility bill. We’d also ask you to bring a J Card from last winter – with proof of residency we’ll load your free tram ride on your J Card. If you do not have a J Card or pass, we will need to charge a one-time fee of $5 for a J Card – this card would be re-useable for repeat free rides as desired within the valid program dates. As well, next winter reload online and receive the best pricing on winter lift tickets. Grand Pass passholders enjoy free tram rides all summer long.
The tram ticket office opens at 8:45 am with the first tram up at 9am and the last tram down at 5pm. Hours extend starting June 14, see here for details.
