Also, in case you want to step up your #game, listen to this story*.  There once was a member of the Army whose name was Joe Reserve, but everyone called him “Private Reserve.”  This guy LOVED music festivals, and especially loved being able to purchase a pass that got him access to a private, premiere viewing area adjacent to the stage as well as complimentary food and beverages, starting at $75.  That’s where the Private Reserve Pass got it’s name*–This year, the Private Reserve VIP area will be catered by the Q Roadhouse.  Complimentary beverages are listed below.

16oz Budweiser & Bud Light
8oz Lemon-Ade-Rita, Cran-Brrr-Rita Red Bull & Editions
8oz Cabernet Sauvignon & Chardonnay Pepsi/ Diet Pepsi
Vodka and Red Bull 7 Up /Mountain Dew

JH RENDEZVOUS Music Under The Tram: Screen Door Porch

  • Time: Thursday, March 19th from 3-5 pm
  • Location: I kid you not, under the literal Aerial Tram
  • Information: Screen Door Porch delivers a fusion of soulful Americana, Roots-Rock and Country-Blues that has been likened to “Gillian Welch meets The Band, with Ryan Adams and Bonnie Raitt hanging out backstage” (605 Magazine). Grooving, electrified porch music, that is. The core female/male singer-songwriter pair of Seadar Rose & Aaron Davis thrive in a space that houses rustic harmonies and “a sort of Lennon/McCartney arrangement and get it right every time” (Americana UK).
  • SHEL’S RENDEZ-VIEW:  Ohhh SHOOT, first official event of Rendezvous!  Last week I said that I really like Screen Door Porches because I enjoy drinking cold beverages outside without dealing with bugs, etc.  BUT THEN, I saw these guys play.  I still objectively like Screened in Porches, but now I really like this band.  Thirsty Thursday will conclude with a nice outdoor concert from these folks.  Also, I checked the weather and it’ll be 50 degrees.

Justin Smith at The Ascent Lounge

  • Time: Thursday, March 19th from 4-7 pm
  • Location:  The Ascent Lounge in The Four Seasons
  • Information: Live music at the end of your ski day!
  • SHEL’S RENDEZ-VIEW:  Look at the pic below.  See that tux? (if you can’t see the tux, see your eye doctor immediately). This guy is classy, so don’t miss his concert on Thursday.  Just stroll into The Four Seasons, sit down, and enjoy this private concert (for you and the other people who attend).

My friend Riley Frances Boone has three names and she’s really cool.  This evidence gives me the confidence to state that all people with 3 names are awesome.  Robert Earl Keen’s performance will be (for lack of a better work) RAD 3x.

They pride themselves in energetic dance parties that feature an interesting musical mix of original tunes and unique covers, seamlessly blended together in a supersonic whirlwind of high altitude stink funk.
  • SHEL’S RENDEZ-VIEW: My secret weapon is humor when I feel uncomfortable.  Also, I can perfectly toast bread for a PBJ sandwich. My colleague Ilka’s secret weapon is her dance moves.  Which aren’t secret, but I guess I didn’t realize they were a weapon.  I need to get to know her better.  ANYWAY.  Sneaky Pete has some secret weapons and they’re his band.   Their performance will be the first installation of a very epic night of music.

  • SHEL’S RENDEZ-VIEW:  Did you know that Michael Franti is 1.98 meters tall?! Be sure to drink in this tall glass of water on Saturday evening.  Get there at 5 pm so that you can cash in on the 2 for 1 Bud Light specials.  Be sure to hydrate too, because you’re gonna dance your pants off and then back on because being publically pants-less is not permitted on the concert grounds.   Also, for all you American readers, 1.98 meters is 6’6.

  • Time: Sunday, March 22nd at 3 pm
  • Location: Get under dat Tram, yo
  • Opening Act: Chanman Roots Band
  • Information: Lukas is excited to be returning to Jackson Hole to perform! Lukas and his band P.O.T.R. (Promise of the Real) are an American rock n roll group based out of California. Lukas first picked up the guitar at age 11 to honor a promise he made to his father and was able to teach himself the craft by playing along to classic Stevie Ray Vaughn and Jimi Hendrix songs.
  • SHEL’S RENDEZ-VIEW:  What’s your perfect date?  Mine’s a long walk on the beach with a cold drink in my hand.  Lukas Nelson’s perfect date is March 22nd because he’s the grand finale of the 2015 Rendezvous Festival!  This young man is last, but certainly not least.   He was the opener for SXSW and his hair is a flowy blessing (see below).   Also, his music is fantastic.  See you there with a cold brew and a light jacket!
