A-Frame Tent Jib at The Campground Stash

Jax N’ Lance here. First things first, Happy New Year! We hope that everyone has a safe and exciting night tonight full of celebration. Ours will be full of skiing until last chair, possibly a celebration waffle and brew at Corbetts, and of course an après visit to the legendary Village Cafe at the new location.

Lance and I had a wonderful Holiday with our family in Denver, yet we were so stoked to arrive back at the resort yesterday. New terrain was open all over, which added even more excitement as we wandered around seeing if any of our favorite runs were recently opened. On top of that, the crowds have more than tripled since we left on the 23rd. It was really exciting to see so many people enjoying JHMR, there were even lift lines at 3:40pm. It’s easy to forget the investment and time it takes for families and friends to take a trip here to enjoy the fresh cowboy snow and it really makes you appreciate the ability we have to live right next door to a #1 ski resort. I met a gentleman that was on day 12 of his ski season and felt so lucky to land it at Jackson Hole on his 2-year anniversary of learning to snowboard and already doubling his statistics since last year. These are the stories that really get you pumped to ski.

On a lift up Casper, we heard that while we were gone, The Burton Stash Park, which is the only one in the Rocky Mountains had opened.

“The Stash takes advantage of the natural terrain, local wood and all the creative elements the mountain has to offer. By using what’s already around, the Stash has more impact on your riding and less impact on the environment.” The Burton Stash Parks are known as a natural course and there are only 7 in the World. They are located in Jackson Hole, Killington, The Remarkables, Northstar, Flachauwinkl Shuttleberg, and Avoriaz.

With freeride and terrain parks becoming more popular every year, we are so lucky to have a state of the art park flowing all through the resort. We thought it would be fun to show a sneak peak of this gem with some shots we took last year of pro skiers and local hero Blaine Gallivan and Colter Hinchcliffe. You can  see Colter in TGR’s Way Of Life, and The Dream Factory as well as Warren Miller Entertainment’s Ticket To Ride. You will likely stumble upon Blaine at the resort helping coach the Jackson Hole Freestyle team. He is additionally pushing hard to make a spot on the Swatch Freeworld World Ski Tour. To support his dream to ski, he works at the legendary Teton Thai. As a side note, their curry dishes are to die for. Did you know there are 4 sections of the state of the art Stash Park in Jackson Hole? They begin from taking the casper chair and heading left down the Amphitheater traverse where you will see the entrance to your left. Stacked with a total of 54 features The Stash park flows through the resort in this order.

On the trail map keep an eye for the stash logo to help weave your way from top to bottom.

So anytime the snow starts to pack out or you want to test your skills, hop on in The Stash for a visit. If I can do it, anyone can.

For more information on The Stash, visit here. Heck, why not make a goal to hit all 7 stashes in the world.

And last but not least, make sure to thank the Jackson Hole Pipe Crew for their hard work to make this unique park possible.
