The mountain bike race season is upon us here in Jackson Hole and will kick off with the Cache Creek Mountain Bike Race Wednesday, July 16th. The Cache to Game Mountain Bike Race has been the longest running mountain bike race in Jackson Hole and has been sponsored by Hoback Sports for over 15 years. The course has been updated this year with members of the bike racing community teaming up with Teton County Parks & Recreation and working with the local forest service to reroute the race for more exciting and modern racing. A few years in the making, this new course will feature some of the best local trails in the Jackson including Hagen and Putt Putt. The race will both start and end in town, and will feature an after race party at Mike Yokel Park to which all are invited.

The race starts in town at Mike Yokel Park and heads to the trails from there, starting on the classic Hagen Trail, pictured below.

After completing Hagen, racers will head back towards town on the Putt-Putt trail. Pictured below is the last section of climbing in the race, before a furious downhill finishes things off.

Whether you’re excited to test your mettle against some of the best local racing talent in the valley or want to attack your own personal record on your favorite after work loop this is a great opportunity to get involved in the mountain bike community here in Jackson. We’re excited to be a part of a new chapter in the longest lasting mountain bike racing tradition here in Jackson Hole and to sponsor a race that really shows off the fantastic trail network we have right outside our back door here in the town of Jackson.

The race will take place on Wednesday, but this is a classic cross-country mountain bike ride any other time as well. If you’re looking for some other fun rides while you’re in Jackson Hole, come on in to Hoback Sports and we would be happy to point you in the right direction.
