Tomorrow is New Years Eve and the mountains feel like they’re preparing us for a new year. The crisp clear skies and new snow have left a fresh blanket of white, and we’re all feeling ready for 2015 to bring us fresh ideas, powder, and overall wonderment.  new-years-jackson-hole-fireworks-1

Jackson Hole offers some great options for celebrations on New Years Eve, and partaking in them is a guaranteed great way to end the year, and start off another!  Here are a few options that will appeal to the party goers as well as the ‘in bed by 9’ types.

Jackson Hole in Teton Village has a torch light parade followed by fireworks, which starts at 6pm.  This is not to be missed by the kiddos, and starts early enough so even the little ones can catch the firework magic. *Editor’s Note: The torchlight parade and fireworks will run as scheduled, but the Kid’s “Glow Worm Parade” has been canceled.

If you’re feeling like a party, check out the Gondi Gala at Couloir Restaurant at the top of the Gondola, starting at 9pm, offering the valley’s most prestigious and beautiful view.  Couloir is notably the best party every December 31st: there is world class star gazing, a moon lit gondola ride, great music, great wine and drinks and all the ambiance and fun a great party needs.

Snow King also offers fireworks and glow torch parade, for those of you staying closer to town. The festivities start at 6:15 in town, you can find out more details here.

If you’re interested in fine dining your way into 2015, there are a few great restaurants that are worth checking out.  If you’re late to the game and can’t find any reservations, ask these restaurants about sitting at the bar as a lot of area restaurants have open bar seats that are just as great (I do recommend getting in early if you want a seat).  Local on the town square has a great burger and a lot of delicious game meat options.  Rendezvous Bistro is a Jackson classic, and is always a great choice for revelry and delicious food.  Hayden’s Post in Snow King Resort is one of the valley’s newer restaurants and is offering a prix fix menu of $60/person with awesome indoor viewing of snow kings torch light parade and fireworks.  The fireplace, food, and decor are all spot on for a great night.  The Snake River Grill has the incredible food and a small bar– if you’re lucky enough to score a seat, you won’t be disappointed. Il Villagio Osteria is a fabulous Italian restaurant in Teton Village that offers the best of both worlds, fireworks and then delicious food and wine.  Finally, The Rose is a bar/restaurant in town that has the most talented bar tenders in town, and offers delicious food.  Even more ideal, the valley’s best music venue is next door where a Michael Jackson tribute band will be rocking into the night.

Check out Jackson’s Foodie mag, Dishing, for all the details on the best restaurants in town.

However you celebrate the end of 2014, and the beginning of 2015, I hope you find just the thing to bring 2015 in the most beautiful of ways.

Happy New Year!
