(Teton Village, WY, Wednesday, May 22, 2013) This Saturday, May 25,2013 the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) opens the Aerial Tram for the summer season.  The Aerial Tram whisks visitors over 4,000 vertical feet to the top of the Tetons offering unforgettable views of the Jackson Hole valley and the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are open and teeming with wildlife and majestic scenery.  The opening of the Aerial Tram this Memorial Day weekend marks the start of another summer season in the northwest corner of Wyoming.

With the successes of the winter still tangible, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is looking forward to a busy summer. “Winter 2013 ended with the highest level of skier/rider visits in the resort’s history, with over 500,000 skier days.  There seems to be a lot of momentum in the marketplace for Jackson Hole, and now with the National Parks opening on schedule  we are very optimistic for a strong summer in Jackson Hole,” stated JHMR President Jerry Blann.

In addition to the Aerial Tram opening, JHMR will be offering many other great activities for visitors throughout the summer, all just one mile from Grand Teton National Park. The Jackson Hole Bike Park accessed by the Teewinot Chairlift is scheduled to open on June 15th, followed by the Bridger Gondola and the Deck and Couloir Restaurants on June 23th.  The Concert on the Commons series kicks off with “Red, White and 2”, the annual 3rd AND 4th of July celebration, then continues on Sundays in July and August.

Locals with or without a Season Pass ride the Aerial Tram for FREE until June 14th and  that includes all residents from Teton County, ID or WY, as well as Lincoln and Sublette counties (local ID required).  During Peak Season locals receive 50% off tram tickets. Starting this Saturday Nick Wilson’s Cowboy Café and Corbet’s Cabin will be open serving lunch and après. The General Store, Teton Village Sports and Jackson Hole Sports will also be open for Memorial Day weekend.
