Big Snow to Start the New Year

Posted on - 2012 - 1 - 1

Big early season snow (30 inches in 3 days) and cool temperatures contributed to a steady start to the skiing and riding season in Jackson Hole, but the month of December has kept the best for last. As 2011 draws to a close, the biggest storm of the season is brewing over the northern pacific and is headed for the Tetons. The forecast calls for the beginning of a major system to impact the Tetons beginning tonight, and to last through the start of the weekend. With forecasts for upwards of 3 feet of new snow Jackson Hole will be ringing in the New Year with powder!

The Antelope Flats Terrain Park opened this weekend with big rails, table tops, and mondo kickers. Accessed via the Teewinot Chairlift the new Antelope Flats Terrain Park features 28 and 32 foot tabletops with crisp take offs and smooth landings, plus a variety of rails including a Battleship rail, and an up down-up-down rail. It’s all topped off with a taller starting mound to get you higher, further and having more fun.

For the fainter of heart or the younger of age, the Bronco terrain park has loads of starter features, and the Campground Stash is open for business with new features this year – like deer hunter, as well as the A-Frame and some of the other classics from last year.

This year book a roundtrip airline ticket to Jackson Hole this winter for as low as $299*!
